Original description: Baculum koreanus Kwon Ha and Lee 1992

  Female: Body elongate, wingless, length 7.5-10 ㎝. Head without thorn-like processes; antennae very short, not reaching to 2/5 of fore femur. Pronotum longer than wide. Fore femur without teeth-like processes, or vestigial. Mid and hind femora armed with 3-4 teeth-like processes ventrally. Epiproct very short, reaching to caudal margin of 9th tergite. Subgenital plate apparently exceeding 9th tergite.
  Male: Unknown.
  Egg: Generally flatten and slightly concave laterally; surface strikingly mat, furnished with microtubules. Micropylar plate oval. Venter and dorsum with a pair of longitudinal grooves. Capitulum absent.
  Holotype: 1♀, Chuwangsan, Kyongbuk Prov., Korea, 14. V-24. IX, 1991 (reared from
Zelcova serrata).
  Host plant:
Weigela subsessilis Bali, Zelcova serrata Mak.
  Remarks: The present new species can be easily distinguishable from B. elongatus by the characteristic shape of the eggs, and by the fore femora which lacking teeth-like processes.
