strongly flexed, length 3.6 ㎜, maximum width 3.3 ㎜. Margin of
anterior flexure with 3-4 strong, spine-like bristles, dorsal side
with 3+3 regularly distributed hair-like setae. Meso-
and metanotum convex, laterally flexed, with slightly concave hind
margin, and 1+1 spine-like bristle on hind margin. Dorsal side of
mesonotum with 2+2 hair-like setae submedially and 2+2 bristles
sublaterally. Length and maximum width of mesonotum 2.8 and 3.1
㎜, of metanotum 2.5 and 3.2 ㎜. Cervicalia with
row of 3-4 strong, spine-like bristles in fore part of lateral margin,
and with group of longer and stronger setae in hind part. Basisternum
posteriorly contracted, with a group of 4 bristles in posterior
part and some hair-like setae in fore part. Meso-
and metasternum with medial fosette, a group of irregularly distributed
bristles in anterior part and 1+1 bristles on hind margin. Epipleurite
II and III with many small, spine-like setae. Legs long.
Coxae with distinct rib, slighter on coxa I. Trochanter short, with
single small, spine-like seta. Femora slightly flexed. Femur I with
group of irregularly distributed setae on anterior side, and few
setae on posterior side; II and III with five rows of bristles.
Tibiae with pair of strong distal spines and two rows of bristles
on ventral side, II and III also with some bristles on dorsal side.

IX with pointed projection. Lateral part of hind margin of all tergites
with 2+2 bristles, anterolateral part of tergite II-VI with 1+1
bristles. Supraanal plate symmetrical, elongated, slightly
flexed. Cerci about 9 ㎜ long, 9-segmented, segment I and II nearly
completely fused. Urosternite I with no bristles;

bristles in medial part and pair of bristles on hind margin; III-VIII
with two irregular rows of bristles (5-9 in anterior row, 4-7 in
posterior), IX with no bristles. Basistyli strongly asymmetrical,

or 5 (left) bristles. Female unknown. Holotype
♂: Mjohjang-san Mts, 26 VI 1985, slope of Vonman-bong Mt, about
1520 m asl., fir forest on northern slope, under stone, leg. A.
Szeptycki. Some young specimens, probably conspecific
with sofiae were
collected also in Mjohjang-san Mts: Manpok-dong Valley, about 350
m asl., 21 VI 1985 (2 specimens), leg. A. Szeptycki; gorge at Hwajang
Temple, about 400 m asl., 23 VI 1985 (1 sp.), leg. A. Szeptycki.
In both cases specimens were taken from the thick layer of litter
in rich deciduous forest with maples, oaks, chestnut Juglans
mandschurica etc. One very small larva
was collected together with the holotype. Derivatio
nominis: Named in the honour of my Mother, Zofia (=Sofia) Szeptycka. All
the material is preserved in the Institute of Systematical and Experimental
Zoology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Krakow, Poland.
