Original description: Micadina yasumatsui Shiraki 1935

♀. Allied to M. phluctaenoides Rehn and rotundata Shiraki, but easily distinguished from the both species by the broad and straight apical margin of frons, the rather narrowly produced ninth tergite, and the long cerci.

Head large, conspicuously broader than the pronotum, very slightly narrowed behind; the apical margin of frons broad and straightly carinate, its carina being about twice as long as that of phluctaenoides; ocelli distinct; eyes nearly as long as half the lateral length of the head behind the eye.

Pronotum comparatively short, with the transversal median sulcus distinctly before the posterior two-thirds, and with the longitudinal median sulcus distinct and its posterior part becoming a fine carina and reaching the hind margin. Mesonotum longer than the head and pronotum together or as long as the intermediate femora, rather narrow, slightly expanded behind, with the distinct median and lateral carinae, roughly tuberculose.

Tegmina short, when seen from dorsum elongate and nearly quadrate (in phluctaenoides and rotundata distinctly produced inward), distinctly and very roughly reticulate; the elevated portion not pointed, and distinct only in the anterior half, while in phluctaenoides and rotundata it is more or less pointed and placed in the posterior two-thirds. Wings reaching or exceeding the hind margin of the fourth tergite, the lateral area with a rather regular reticulation and two rather distinct intercalary veins.

Abdomen somewhat inflated, the greatest width being at the second and third tergite, and the least at the sixth; seventh and eighth tergites tectate, the former a little shorter than the latter; ninth tergite very slightly longer than the preceding tergite, the apex narrowly produced and with a distinct triangular median emargination, when seen from side the apico-inferior margin distinctly sinuate; supra-anal plate distinctly exposed between the apical lobes of the ninth tergite but not long; cerci straight, conspicuously exceeding beyond the apex if the ninth tergite; subgenital operculum tectate, the apex broadly rounded and reaching to the apex of the eighth tergite. Leg short; anterior femora as long as the pro- and mesonotum together or distinctly longer than the tibiae, the basal curvature slight; anterior metatarsi nearly as long as the remaining tarsal joints together; intermediate femora and tibiae short, the former very slightly longer than the latter or as long as the mesonotum, both distinctly longer than the two basal tergites together; posterior femora conspicuously longer than the pro- and mesonotum together, or a little longer than the tibiae.
