♂♀. Head strong1y convex above and laterally,
face nearly perpendicular. Fastigium of vertex strongly oblique,
small, triangular, distinctly sulcate at the tip. Fastigium of frons
not conspicuous, but separated from that of vertex. Antennae very
long; first joint small, cylindrical, about 1.5 times as long as
wide. Maxillary pa1pi very slender; apical joint narrower than the
precedings, slightly curved, cylindrical but very slightly swollen
at the tip, at where it is truncated, a little longer than 2 precedings
together. Pronotum rounded, small, sloping forwards,
gradually broadened behind, with the front margin straight and hind
margin moderate1y convex. Intermediate and hind sulci distinct,
the former being V-shaped and the later nearly straight. Lateral
lobes as long as broad, the front margin straight and very slightly
oblique, lower margin strongly convex and hind margin S-like curved.
Mesosternal lobes rounded, a little longer than broad; metasternal
lobes semicircular. Abdomen short. Subgenital plate
of male moderate1y long, the narrowed portion rather short and provided
with 3 distinct carinae, of which the median one is narrow and low,
the apex triangularily incised, the apical lobes being pointed and
provided with a conspicuous but rather short stylus; of female short,
trapezoidal. Supra-anal plate semicircular. Cerci of male moderately
long, granulate, curved inwards, conspicuously sharpened apically,
provided with a long sharp spine at the middle of upper side. Ovipositor
as long as front tibia, strongly compressed and moderately curved
above, rather regularly crenulate on both the surface and margins
of apical half, rather obtusely pointed. Elytra elongate,
very slightly narrowed toward the apex, with the apical margin rounded;
subcostal vein distinct, oblique. Wings a little extending behind
elytra, more or less pointed. Legs long and slender.
Front and intermediate tibiae sulcate both above and beneath, provided
with two rows of very minute spines on both sides, excepting the
upper side of front tibiae, where it is provided with only one spinule
on the basal dilation; exterior tympanum elongate, interior one
conchate and very narrow. Front coxae provided with a curved spine.
Hind femora very long and slender, a little swollen at the basal
half, the spines of under side fine; hind tibiae provided with many
rather conspicuous spines on the upper side, but on the under side
there are a few fine ones. General coloration deep
green; antennae blackish but paler toward the base; pronotum with
a conspicuous black band along yellowish hind margin; tympanal field
brownish, with a thick yellowish transversal vein. Body
length ♂ 22, ♀ 23; pronotum ♂ 5.5, ♀ 5.6; elytra ♂ 28, ♀ 25;
wings ♂ 28, ♀ 26; hind femora ♂ 25, ♀ 25; ovipositor 10 ㎜.
Width of elytra ♂ 9, ♀ 8.8 ㎜. Four males and one
female from Koyasan (VIII), Wakayama-Ken, Japan. The
new species distinctly differs from P. ensis de Haan, in
the structure of genitalia.
